​Leaders in Training (L.I.T.) is a leadership program for teens in 8th-10th grade who are looking to grow as responsible leaders while also building confidence and self-worth. Each session is two weeks long. Over each two-week session, L.I.T. participants will assist counselors to make sure all J Campers are engaged and having fun. plan and lead activities for campers, meet regularly with the L.I.T. Director and interact with other JCC professional staff to develop leadership and teamwork skills, and participate in camp special events. This could be an on-site or off-site field trip, camp talent show, or an undernight / overnight. Participants can register for as many sessions as they would like. 2022 rates coming soon!

Camp participation is determined by the grade your child will enter in the fall of 2021. If a registration is received less than one week prior to the program a $50 late registration fee will be assessed to each participant. A minimum of 4 participants per session is needed. * Participants must attend one of the mandatory training weeks in order to attend any of the L.I.T. sessions.


New! Stipend Program

We are excited to offer new and engaging opportunities to participants of our Leaders In Training program. This includes the ability to earn a $40 stipend per session!

 To be eligible, L.I.T. participants must:
1) Complete the L.I.T. application
2) Attend one of the two L.I.T. Training Weeks. (June 1st-4th or July 6th-9th) Participants must attend Tuesday – Friday, from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Participants only need to attend one training week.
3) Attend both weeks of each session they are registered for

Training Weeks

This year we are offering leadership training to all L.I.T. participants. In addition to leadership training, participants will learn new skills, learn how to work with kids, understand the ins and outs of planning and executing programs, and much more! Each training week will run Tuesday- Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Training Week I will be offered June 1st-4th and Training Week II will be July 6th-9th. Attendance at one of the training weeks is required to attend any session of the L.I.T. sessions. Participants attending multiple session only need to attend one of the training weeks. The cost of training is $100 and includes a $20 stipend for the week, special Friday lunch, and supplies for participants.
