Premiere Camps provide focused programming in popular areas of interest for children in K-8th grade. From sports and dance to musical theater and pop culture, there is something for everyone!

 

Overview

  • Open to Members & Non Members, K-8th grade
  • Camp participation is determined by age / grade
  • Youth, Sport, Dance & Musical Theater Options (see below)
  • Premiere Camps run Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – Noon at the JCC
  • Musical Theater Camp run 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Premiere Sport Camps

Premiere Sports Camps bring a wide variety of fun athletic programming to your child. Eight, week-long camps are offered. Each camp has a different area of focus. Kids can register for one or all of the weekly camps. Unless noted otherwise, registration includes a t-shirt, prepackaged snack and team photo. Camp participation is based on age.

Covid-19 Updates for Sport Camps

Based upon the current state and local restrictions, we know this year will look different than our traditional Sports Camps years, but we are excited to get up and running, while providing a great program and experience for your child. Below is a list of some initial information that we would like you to know about this summer Camp. We hope this will help guide your decision.

New Safety Measures

  • Sport Premier Campers will be put into groups of 30 or less. Each group will be assigned 2 staff. Special request for groups will not be granted. Groups will be separated prior to camp and we will do our best to keep groups together based on age/grade/siblings. Groups will remain the same all week. See below for J Camp Add-On option groups.
  • Drop off will be at the JCC Pavilion in car line.
  • Health and temperature checks will be completed at Check-In. Parents are to stay in cars and not leave till their child is cleared on their health check.
  • Campers should remain in their cars until directed to exit by a staff member.
  • Campers should bring a water bottle and spray sunscreen to camp each day. No backpacks or toys will be allowed
  • Camp will operate within spaces/rooms on the JCC campus. Groups will remain in their designated space throughout the day. Rotations to each room will be made throughout the week.
  • Campers will be encouraged to wear masks. Campers will need to provide their own mask.
  • A prepackaged snack will be provided during the 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. sport camp. For health and safety, we will not allow outside food to be brought into the site. We will work closely with families whose children have dietary needs.

Please note that the following will be modified or canceled from camp:
Basketball and Soccer Camp awards and autograph ceremonies and Cheer Camp pep rally will be held virtually. Parents and friends can view on Facebook Live.
Extreme and Active Camps will not travel offsite for field trips.
Special guests who normally attend camp will not be in attendance for sports camps.
The playground and swimming pool will not be available for use. If restrictions are lifted we may look to include the above .

July 6-10: Active Sports Camp

2nd-8th Grade Boys & Girls
Minimum: 10 / Maximum: 26

Campers will be challenged with unconventional sports! We’ll explore sports on wheels, on water, and other exciting challenges. Campers will also learn fun gym games and have special sport experiences. Transportation provided. Register early…limited spots available. Premiere Sport Camps run from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m, Monday – Friday.

Campers who are registered for any Premiere Camp (Youth, Sports or Dance) in the morning have the option of attending J Camp in the afternoon. When the Premiere Camp ends at noon, campers participating in the Half-Day Add-On will be escorted to their applicable J Camp. The Half-Day Add-On runs from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. Registration is per week.

Before and After Care is available for campers that need extended care in the morning and/or afternoon. Kids will have access to the amenities of the Youth Lounge as well as structured activities. Extended care registration for camp is per week. Drop off and pick up are in the JCC Youth Lounge. Details can be found in the “Extras & Add Ons” tab below.

July 13-17: Triple Threat Triathlon Camp

2nd-8th Grade Boys & Girls

Enjoy a week of swimming, cycling, and running – all while learning how a triathlon works.  Parents are invited to join us on Friday, July 17th at 9:30 a.m. for a mini triathlon around the JCC campus. Premiere Camps run from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m, Monday through Friday.  *Triple Threat Triathlon campers will be asked to leave their bikes at the JCC during the week. Bikes will be stored in a locked and secure area. Campers will also need to bring a swimsuit.

Experience one of the most exciting camps of the summer! Receive training in the fundamentals of basketball, flag football and more! The focus of this camp is to give young athletes a fun, noncompetitive experience. Premiere Camps run from 9:00 a.m – 12:00 p.m, Monday – Friday.

Experience high intensity skill training, with an emphasis on ball handling, shooting, finishing moves, 1-on-1 attack series, and position-specific drills. This is a great camp to get a jump start on the fall basketball season! Premiere Camps run from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m, Monday through Friday.

Premiere Youth Camps

Premiere Youth Camps are designed to give kids an opportunity to explore areas they are interested in. Programming is based around “kid-approved” activities and trends. Ten, week-long camps are offered, each with a different area of focus. Registration is per week. Kids can register for any or all of the weeks. Premiere Youth Camps run Monday-Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. They are open to K-7th grade Members and Non Members. Camp participation is based on age.

Covid-19 Updates for Premiere Youth Camps

This summer our main goal is to balance fun and safety for all our campers and staff! We have put new policies and procedures in place following the CDC, ACA and local guidelines. These updates will help to keep our J Camp families safe while still having some J Camp Fun!

New Safety Measures

  • Premier Campers will be put into groups of 15 or less campers/group.
  • Drop off will be at the JCC Pavilion in car line.
  • Health and temperature checks will be completed at Check-In. Parents are to stay in cars and not leave till their child is cleared on their health check.
  • Campers should remain in their cars until directed to exit by a staff member.
  • Campers should bring a water bottle and spray sunscreen to camp each day. No backpacks or toys will be allowed.
  • Staff will wear masks when working closely with kids (ie. First aid, health screenings) and whenever they are handling food.
  • Groups will have their own supplies and snacks that will not be shared with other groups.
  • Cleaning of supplies and tables will be done before and after each activity.
  • Groups will be following Social Distancing guidelines when outside, and assigned to their own room when required to be inside.
  • Kids enrolled in 12:00-4:00pm half day add-on will stay with the same group of campers and staff they were assigned during their Premier Youth Camp.

All aboard the Hogwarts Express! We’re headed to Hogwarts for a new term. Discover which house you’ll land in, take Hogwarts classes, play Quidditch and make magical fun. Premiere Camps run from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Calling all Hawkeyes and Everdeen’s! Join us for an action packed week of archery camp. Spend the week developing and refining archery skills. This is not any old LEGO camp. LEGO Academy will teach campers how to find their own identity in the LEGO universe! We’ll even build a city of LEGO wonder. Premiere Camps run from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Premiere Dance Camps

JCC Premiere Dance Camp is a unique opportunity for Members and Non Members in K-3rd grade (ages 5-8) to experience a taste of JCC dance programs. Participants will enjoy a morning of dance instruction, art projects, prepackaged snacks, and learning about the featured ballet of the week.

New this year! Dance Camps will be held upstairs in the new Staenberg Arts & Education Corridor dance studios. These new studios include fully sprung dance floors, updated lighting and sound systems. These spaces were made possible by a very generous gift from Michael Staenberg.

Additional Information

  • This year, campers should wear clothes suitable for art activities as we will not be changing into dance clothes or putting on art shirts.
  • As of this time, due to Covid-19 we will not be swimming.
  • Please arrive with sunscreen already on and either make sure your camper knows how to apply sunscreen themselves or send a spray sunscreen so we can spray them and they will rub it in on themselves.
  • Camp staff will be wearing masks throughout the entire day and campers are encouraged to wear/bring their own masks. The type that can hang from the neck is preferred so that when they are not wearing it, it’s still on them.
  • No outside belongs can be brought with them except a water bottle. When they arrive we will have places marked out for each camper to place their water bottles and shoes.
  • We will do our dance classes and rehearsals inside our large studios maintaining a 6ft separation between campers and staff, but will do snack and other activities outside as much as possible, weather permitting.
  • Snacks will be provided as always but will be individually wrapped items this year.

 

Arrival: There will be a car line for all JCC camps to go through this year so that all health screenings can be done uniformly. Please plan on arriving for the check in process to begin at 8:45 am. The car line is formed on the South Drive, near the Pavilion. Parents are asked to stay in the cars and campers will remain in their car until a staff person comes to get them out. There is a series of simple questions and their temperature will be taken. Once all is good, your camper will join our group out on the lawn in the JCC backyard. We will join JCC Camp for the flag ceremony and head to our area inside.

July 27-31: Hansel & Gretel

K-3rd Grade Boys & Girls

Minimum: 10 / Maximum: 18


Hansel & Gretel is a well-known fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm in which a young brother and sister are kidnapped by a witch living in a confectionery house. The two children save their lives by outwitting her. During camp we will bring the story to life and choreograph our own version of the ballet. The final performance on Friday, July 31st from 11:45 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. will be closed to the public. This event will be recorded and shared with parents. Premiere Camps run 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m, Monday – Friday.

Premiere Musical Theater Camp

Let your inner star shine with Premiere Musical Theater Camp! Members and Non Members in 3rd-8th grade (ages 8-14) will work with industry professionals to learn how to be a successful performer. Campers will have a blast with mock auditions, High School Musical script work, choreography, vocal lessons, set design and costume design. Each day campers should bring sunscreen, dairy sack lunch (no meat) and wear clothes suitable for art activities. Musical Theater Camp is a full day camp that runs 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

  • Campers should bring a water bottle and spray sunscreen to camp each day. No backpacks or toys will be allowed.
  • Staff will wear masks when working closely with kids (ie. First aid, health screenings) and whenever they are handling food.
  • Groups will have their own supplies and snacks that will not be shared with other groups.
  • Cleaning of supplies and tables will be done before and after each activity.
  • Groups will be following Social Distancing guidelines when outside, and assigned to their own room when required to be inside.
  • Kids enrolled in 12:00-4:00 pm half day add-on will stay with the same group of campers and staff they were assigned during their Premier Youth Camp.

 

Additional Information

Arrival: There will be a car line for all JCC camps to go through this year so that all health screenings can be done uniformly. Please plan on arriving for the check in process to begin at 8:45 am. The car line is formed on the South Drive, near the Pavilion. Parents are asked to stay in the cars and campers will remain in their car until a staff person comes to get them out. There is a series of simple questions and their temperature will be taken. Once all is good, your camper will join our group out on the lawn in the JCC backyard. We will join JCC Camp for the flag ceremony and head to our area inside.

Please arrive with sunscreen already on and make sure your camper knows how to apply sunscreen for mid-day reapplication. Camp staff will be wearing masks throughout the entire day and campers are encouraged to wear/bring their own masks. The type that can hang from the neck is preferred so that when they are not wearing it, it’s still on them. No outside belongs can be brought with them except a water bottle, lunch bag, and sunscreen. When they arrive we will have places marked out for each camper to place their belongings.

July 6-10: High School Musical

3rd-8th Grade Boys & Girls

Troy Bolton, the star athlete at a small-town high school, falls for nerdy beauty Gabriella Montez at a holiday karaoke party. When they return to campus, Troy and Gabriella audition for the upcoming school musical. Meanwhile, the jealous Sharpay Evans conspires to squelch their chances. The two must struggle to make it to auditions while also meeting their existing obligations to the basketball team and the academic decathlon. Parents and family are invited to attend our final performance on Friday, July 12th from 3:30– 4:00 p.m. at the JCC in the Community Engagement Venue. Premiere Musical Theater Camp runs from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Before and After Care is available for campers that need extended care in the morning and/or afternoon. Kids will have access to the amenities of the Youth Lounge as well as structured activities. Half Day Add On

Kids that need to be dropped off before 9:00 a.m. or picked up after 4:00 p.m. have the option of registering for extended care hours. Before Care runs from 7:00 – 9:00 a.m. and After Care runs 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. All extended care programs are held in the JCC Youth Lounge. Breakfast is included for Before Care participants who arrive before 8:00 a.m. Registration for J Camp extended care hours are per week. Participants can choose to attend either morning or evening hours, or both morning and evening hours. Children who are not registered for After Care, but are still at camp after 4:15 p.m. will automatically be enrolled into After Care at a $15 daily drop-in rate.
