Purim celebrates the story of Esther and Mordecai, and their courageous actions that saved the Jewish people in Persia from execution. During Purim, it is customary to dress in costume, eat hamantaschen (pastries), send Mishloach Manot (gift baskets) and read the Megillah (story of Esther).

Passover is the story of the Exodus and the Israelites’ struggle from slavery to freedom. The quest for religious freedom is an ongoing struggle. Each year at Passover, the Jewish people commit themselves anew to this quest.
