Covid Announcements
May 17, 2020
We’re getting close to announcing the full details of our reopening plans! Please watch your email and our website for updates. As of now, I can share the following information with you. We will share the fine details of these plans as they become finalized. Please remember that all plans and dates are tentative and subject to change.
PHASE 1
Phase 1 will begin June 1st. Campus access will ONLY be granted to children registered for Summer Camp and to students of the Pennie Z. Davis Child Development Center. No other individuals (outside of our staff) will be allowed in the building during this time. Both Summer Camp and the Pennie Z. Davis Child Development Center will be implementing modified programming with new practices and procedures in adherence with state and national guidelines for Covid-19. Parents, please watch your email for details regarding these new protocols.
PHASE 2
Dates for Phase 2 will be announced soon. This phase will include private personal training sessions and limited access to the Phil Sokolof Fitness Center. As much as we will love having you back, we can’t welcome you all at the same time. We will be enforcing a strict limit on the number of individuals in the facility at one time. To stay in adherence with state and local guidelines, the Fitness Center will have capacity limits. Access to the Fitness Center will be available by reservation only. Complete instructions and how to reserve a time, as well as additional safety protocol will be communicated soon.
PHASE 3
Dates for Phase 3 will be announced soon. We are awaiting finalization of formal guidelines from state and local officials in regards to the functioning of swimming pools.
As I’ve said before, we greatly appreciate your patience as we navigate this uncharted territory. Please continue to watch our email updates. Many things have changed over the last several weeks, but our commitment to you has not. Your health and safety, as well as the health and safety of our staff, remains our number one priority. You are a part of our family. We are your JCC.
– Mark Martin, JCC Executive Director
May 10, 2020
May 4, 2020
At this time, our facility remains closed. We are awaiting formal state, local, and Center for Disease Control guidelines to help us finalize reopening plans. Watch for email updates and surveys from us over the next few weeks as we gather more information to move ahead. We can’t wait to safely welcome you back!
March 26 - Membership Options
March 26, 2020
JCC Members –
On March 16th we made the difficult decision to temporarily close our building due to the covid-19 pandemic. Our original intent was to re-open April 1. Unfortunately, state and local agencies are now telling us that is no longer advisable. While we miss seeing you and can’t wait to welcome you back, for the time being our facility will remain temporarily closed.
With the temporary closure of our facility, we have received many questions regarding the payment of membership dues. Given the uncertainty of when it will be safe to reopen, we have established the following options regarding membership. Options are based on how your membership dues are currently paid and will go into effect this April. For full details please see the payment category, listed below, that pertains to you.
Full Pay Memberships
Full Pay membership refers to those who have already paid their membership dues for the full year – all at once, in advance.
Full pay members will have two options regarding their membership dues. If we don’t receive your preference by April 10th, 2020, option one will be selected for you.
OPTION 1: Continue Membership & Donate
• Your membership remains active.
• No action is required regarding your account.
• Your 2020 dues have already been paid in full. Any dues pertaining to the time period where we were closed and no services were rendered will be considered a tax-deductible donation used to support the JCC and its staff.
• We will acknowledge your generosity with a tax letter.
Full Pay option 1 will keep your membership active and allow your dues to financially support the JCC and our staff during this difficult time. Dues for which no services are rendered (during the temporary closure) can be considered a tax-deductible donation. We will provide a tax letter.
Full Pay Members click here if you wish to confirm your selection of OPTION 1
If we do not hear from you by April 10th, 2020, this option will be selected for you.
OPTION 2: Continue Membership & Forward Credit
• Your Membership will continue
• You will receive a credit on your next renewal statement for the amount of months missed
• You must inform us by April 10th, 2020 if you wish to select this option
Full pay members that wish to pause their membership during the closure must let us know. These members will receive a credit on their next renewal statement for the time we are closed beginning April 1st. For example: If the JCC is closed April 1st through April 30th, a family membership will receive a renewal letter with a $126 credit applied to their 2021 dues.
Full Pay Members Click here to select OPTION 2
Month to Month Memberships
Month to Month membership refers to those who pay their membership dues on a monthly basis.
Month to month members will have three options for their membership dues payment during the closure (effective as of April 1st)
If we don’t receive your preference by April 10th, 2020, option two (membership freeze) will be selected for you.
OPTION 1: Continue Membership & Donate
• Your Membership remains active
• Your monthly dues pertaining to the time period where we are closed and no services are rendered will be considered a tax-deductible donation used to support the JCC and its staff.
• We will acknowledge your generosity with a tax letter.
• You must inform us by April 10th if you wish to select this option
Monthly Members click here to select OPTION 1
OPTION 2: Freeze Your Membership
• Your membership will be paused until we re-open.
• No action is required regarding your account.
• You will not be charged any dues while your membership is frozen
• If you have already contacted us to freeze your membership, you do not have to contact us again.
• The normal $10 Membership Freeze Fee will be waived
• Your membership will be automatically reactivated when our facility reopens.
Monthly Members click here if you wish to confirm your selection of OPTION 2
If we do not hear from you by April 10th, 2020, this option will be selected for you.
OPTION 3: Cancel Your Membership
• Your membership will be canceled
• No dues will be charged once the cancellation is processed
• If you choose to rejoin at a later date, enrollment & processing fees WILL apply.
Monthly Members click HERE to select OPTION 3
If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us at jccmembership@jccomaha.org.
We thank you for your patience and support during this time.
Stay healthy,
The JCC Membership Team

In response to the recent Omaha news that a positive case of COVID-19 (coronavirus) and two presumptive positive cases (relatives of the first case) have been reported in Nebraska:
To date, we have no known exposure on our campus.
RBJH is closed to all non-employees until further notice. RBJH does NOT have COVID-19 in the facility but the virus can be deadly to the elderly. As their trusted care providers, we are doing what we feel is necessary to protect their well-being.
We will continue to follow good health practices across our campus and ask that you do the same at home:
- If you are sick, stay home!
- Avoid close contact with anyone who is sick.
- Wash hands often. Wash for 20 seconds with soap, rub between fingers and under nails; and then rinse and dry. Use alcohol (60% +) hand gel if sinks are not readily available.
- Practice and teach children proper coughing/sneezing etiquette. Cover mouth and nose with the crook of your arm. Or better yet, cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze and then throw the tissue in the trash.
- Avoid touching or rubbing your eyes, nose and mouth.
- Clean and sanitize frequently touched objects and surfaces.
- Always consult with your medical professional if you have questions or concerns.
In addition, we have increased our efforts to sanitize touch points – door handles, bathrooms, fitness equipment, etc. We have asked employees to wipe down their desks, phones, and interior door handles as well.
At this point, there is no plan to stop the work we are doing. This decision will be re-evaluated frequently. Should the decision be made to cancel an event or to close an agency, information will be available on the JFO website and Facebook page.
While the risk for contracting the virus remains low, we again ask you not to visit our campus if you are displaying any symptoms of respiratory illness – cough, fever, sore throat, runny nose, and/or shortness of breath.
The Douglas County Health Department has established an information line for questions – 402.444.3400. This line is manned Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Additional information is also available on their website – www.douglascountyhealth.com.
